Spring is here, days start getting warmer, the flowers are blooming, and the birds cannot stop singing. The ancients Romans created a festival for the goddess Flora to celebrate Spring, and they called it the Floral Games.

"Spring (detail)", by Alma-Tadema

Initially, the Floral Games were much related to symbolizing the renewal of the cycle of life: youth and fertility. As time passed, these games, which from the very beginning included pantomimes and theatre, also included other forms of art. These activities and performances, such as literature and poetry, were not intended just for fun. In Colorland, this celebration is focused on Painting Art and all the literary texts are related to this art form.
